I made my logo out of paperclips.  Not sure what to do with it, so I made these.  Harumph.

Assistants posters / Need a tablet?

I'm about done with the first poster design.  I pretty much just added the N logo that includes the URL, a cleaned up my photo cutouts in photoshop and changed the pictures for Rigby and Danny, I changed the labels on the folder and pushed back the transparency, an made a smoother edge around the character's paper cutout.  What do you guys think?  Should I use the logo w/ the folder on it or the one without the folder? I'm kind of indifferent .. the folder one might be too much on this poster, but would look fine on other applications.. and maybe it doesn't gel right w/ the stroked text... bah.. i'll flip a coin

If anyone is interested I just ordered a Wacom drawing tablet (which I've been meaning to get for years) because a basic 4x6 Wacom bamboo tablet is on sale right now for just $45 shipped from DELL (add to cart to see the $45 price).  If you're interested GO HERE.  and you can get free 2day shipping with code ZBC8LPSBMMRB28.  Just passing on the information....

some assistance?

Bah.. I haven't had any good inspiration for a logo design for The Assistants other than I'll probably keep it all lowercase.  I'm probably going to just keep it all type.  And possibly throw graphics or something behind it on different application... like on the posters...

I tried this coffee cup and file folder motif, but there's nothing special about it.  I kind like the little filmstrip thingy, but of course it is oh so cliche... My logo is probably just going to be all type.  It'll probably just be the first one you see on here...   I'm not going to do much with this for now, I'll just start on the posters.

I just got ahold of the gotham rounded font.  For some reason I didnt have the rounded version... it's like the same typeface I use all the friggin time except round.  I really need to stop using it....

Ocean's Eleven title sequence

Here's my finished title sequence of Ocean's Eleven.  I'm going to go back and make some changes and additions when I have some time.  This took such a long time but was really fun to make and the payoff was great.  I'm going to have to find another movie title that I'd like to recreate as a side project in the future.

(I'm gonna fix my blog so these widescreen videos show up better when I have time, but right now go HERE to view this directly on youtube)

As for the juried student art show, I submitted this movie title and the Barack Obama poster I did last semester.  In case anyone forgot what it looks like...

How they made Benjamin Button

I don't know how many of you have seen the movie, but there were a lot of special effects used to bring Brad Pitt at various ages to life in that Benjamin Button movie. I just came across this video of a presentation one of the creators gave about the technology behind this. It isn't really graphic design, but some of you might find this interesting (talkin to you James!) Anyway, I didn't even watch the whole thing, but I saw like the last 6 or 7 minutes and found it quite facinating.... anyway, take a look...

ALSO

I just came across another link for a free web bases vector editor. I clicked the link and it loaded up in less than 30 seconds and looks very similar to illustrator. I guess if you ever need to design a logo on the go, this could be an option. Pretty cool stuff though.. go to this like and click on the vector editor named RAVEN
